In Harmony is a professional study course that challenges music therapists to raise the bar in their clinical practice by enhancing their skill in facilitating music therapy groups. Optional CMTE credits. Music therapists can receive 20 hours of pre-approved CMTE credit by submitting written assignments chosen from options in each chapter. The CMTE fee is only $80 – only $4 per credit hour! You do not submit the CMTE fee or assignments until you are ready to receive credit. Learning Objectives for In Harmony Unit 1: Participant will utilize basic group music therapy principles for developing effective initial and ongoing treatment strategies for groups. CBMT Scope of Practice II: D, E Unit 2: Participant will structure treatment that integrates the objectives of individuals into the overall group treatment plan. CBMT Scope of Practice II: D, E. Unit 3: Participant will develop and implement music therapy experiences to help individual participants achieve therapeutic goals while participating in group therapy. CBMT Scope of Practice III:A Unit 4: Participant will develop and implement strategies that set the occasion for individuals in group music therapy sessions to maintain appropriate behavior. CBMT Scope of Practice: IV:A Unit 5: Participant will develop and use documentation forms and methods that effectively and efficiently document group music therapy sessions. Statement of relationship to CBMT: In Harmony is approved by the Certification Board of Music Therapists (CBMT) for 20 Continuing Music Therapy Education credits (CMTE). Credits awarded by CBMT are accepted by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
